Call spikes and business hours - how Puhebotti helps

Monday mornings, busy campaign days, and after business hours: Puhebotti answers every call even when you can't.

Why is a call spike a problem?

During busy moments the phone can ring nonstop while your hands are already full of work. Every missed call is a potential customer who calls a competitor next. Puhebotti solves this by answering every call instantly.

When does a call spike typically happen?

Monday mornings

Contact requests that build up over the weekend often break loose on Monday between 8 and 10 am.

Campaigns and offers

A marketing campaign brings a call spike. Puhebotti scales automatically, even with dozens of calls at once.

Outside business hours

Customers call in the evenings, at night, and on weekends too. Puhebotti is always there.

Staff shortages

Holidays, sick leave, or a busy project: Puhebotti fills the gap and keeps customer service running.

Two ways to use Puhebotti to manage call spikes

1. Call forwarding outside business hours

The most common approach: during business hours calls reach your team as usual. When the office closes, you activate call forwarding to Puhebotti. In the morning you deactivate it, and Puhebotti's summaries are waiting in your inbox.

How to activate: Turn on call forwarding from your phone at the end of the day with the code **61*041XXXXXXX# (unanswered calls) or **21*041XXXXXXX# (all calls). Remove it in the morning with: ##002#

2. Continuous background coverage

Puhebotti is always on. When your team answers, Puhebotti does nothing. When the phone isn't answered (busy, unreachable, or no answer), Puhebotti automatically steps in. The customer always gets a response.

How is call forwarding activated based on business hours?

The simplest approach is manual activation at the start and end of the day. Many of our customers do this routinely as part of their opening and closing routine.

If you want to automate this, it can be done with your carrier's time-based routing or a separate switchboard system. We're happy to help.
